Sizing Guide Mission:
1. Find the largest size AC Shade that is not larger than the width and length of the top of the condenser.Â
Lessons learned from backers so far:
Example 1: If the top of your condenser measures 34"x 37", you will choose an AC34, and all 4 of sides of the frame will sit securely on the top. And with a total width of 74", those extra 3 " on one side do not make a difference.
Example 2: If the top of your condenser measurements are not square, select the largest size possible, which should be no larger than the narrowest dimension of width or length.
In this picture, the back width was 34, the front width was 27, and the length was 37, so an AC34 will fit comfortably and securely.

If your unit is larger than the AC36, the AC36 will still work perfectly, but please email support@cooleriscooler.com for special installation instructions.
Step 1 — Measure the top
- Measure the Length and Width of the flat top of your condenser.
- Write down both numbers.
   Â
Step 2 — Pick the Right Size
- Sizes are in outer-edge dimensions (20"–36", even sizes).
- AC Shade sizes are based on the outer edge of the frame (20″–36″, even sizes).
- Choose the largest model that is smaller than or equal to the top of your condenser (both length and width).
- The opening is always 2″ smaller than the model size — no math needed.
👉 Example: If your condenser top is 30″ × 28″, choose AC28.
👉 Example: An AC30 has a 30″ outer frame and a 28″ opening.
Step 3 — Double-Check the Fan
- If your fan grille is flat, it’s okay if the opening overlaps slightly.
- If your grille is raised/domed, make sure the fan/dome diameter is ≤ (model size − 2″).
- Example: AC28 → opening is 26″. As long as the dome is 26″ or smaller, you’re good.

Key Notes
- AC Shade model size = outer edge of the frame.
- Fan opening = Model size minus 2″ (already built in)
- Always pick a size that fits within the condenser top in both directions.
- If needed, you can trim up to 1″ from the 4 center posts for a snug fit.
